Ice bathing and climbing on the ice sheet
Experience an adventurous day on the Greenland Ice Sheet
Join us on an exciting and challenging trip to the Greenland ice sheet where we combine hiking, ice swimming and climbing. We start our adventure in Kangerlussuaq and drive through magnificent nature for 37 kilometers until we reach the edge of the ice cap. From here we cross the moraine and move onto the ice itself.
With crampons strapped to your boots, we hike across the spectacular icy landscape towards the fascinating “bathing lake”. Here you have the chance to take a refreshing and brave dip in the clear, cold water – an experience guaranteed to give you an adrenaline rush and unforgettable memories.
Exploration and climbing
After ice bathing, we continue our hike deeper into the ice and pass impressive valleys. We visit a meltwater well, also known as a mill, where we will have the opportunity to explore the dramatic ice canyons. With the use of ice screws and ropes, we can take a closer look at the steep, ice-filled walls and get a unique insight into the structure and beauty of the ice.
